Purpose:

  • The 'Category Menu' control is a global control and enables you to display the categories, subcategories or leaf level categories of your store or any internal/external page links by configuring them through the ‘Custom Menu’ tab.

    • Note:'Global Category menu' means the 'category menu' is common at all the pages. i.e. if you edit the 'category menu' at any page, the same changes will be applied to all the 'category menus' that are configured at different other pages.

  • The category menu is more useful when you want to highlight the promotion of a particular category/group. You can also use this to highlight the best selling products/categories.

Prerequisites:

  • The category menu displays the configured categories in the form of links.

  • You need to create the respective 'Category page' so that when a user clicks on a category link that was displayed through the 'Category Menu Control,' the respective products of that category should be displayed.

1. The 'Category menu' is a 'Global Category menu', which means that it is common for all the pages. i.e. if you edit the 'Category Menu' at any page, the same changes will be applied to all 'Category Menus' that are configured at different other pages.

2. Hence, to display a unique Category menu for each page, you can use the Page Menu Drag & Drop Control.
