How do I create and run promotions like: 'shop for greater than Rs. XXXX and get a 'flat amount' or 'specific % off on the cart subtotal' at my web store?
Note:
For defining the rules of a 'cart promotion' in a right way that works for you, a lot of trial and error is required. So, let's find few examples of cart promotions for better understanding.
As the procedure for adding a cart promotion is already explained in the Add a Cart Promotion, here we will discuss the respective promotions through the screenshots only. Note: These examples are only for understanding the 'cart Promotions'. There are many more scenarios in which you can run cart promotions as per your business need. All you need is a better creativity.
If multiple products are there in the cart, the cart subtotal discount will be divided by product wise and displayed against each respective product as shown in the figure.

Note: The following screenshots depict the promotion step by step:

Actions and Actions Conditions:

When the user doubles the cart sub-total by additional purchase, still it satisfies the condition only once. i.e. condition: 'cart subtotal > Rs. 5000'. So, a discount of Rs. 750 will be applied only once.

Note:
There are no products suggested through the 'Actions Conditions' here. Hence the 'Special Offer(s)' section and the popup will not be displayed on the cart page.
If the Is Repetitive option is Yes or No, there will be no difference. Because the 'Is Repetitive' clause will work with the Is or Is one of the types of conditions only. And the 'Is Repetitive' clause is not applicable in this example as we have used the 'greater than' condition here.
You can also give a specific % discount on cart subtotal (through 'Actions') instead of fixed amount as mentioned in this example.
