How do I create a new 'Flash Sale Event' and display in store front?


To create a new 'Flash Sale Event' and display in store front, do the following:


There are Four steps involved here:

1. Creating 'Section Page:'

  • To display the 'Details of Flash Sale Events, 'create a 'Section Page'.
    Pl refer: Create Section Page
    • Note: One 'Section Page' can be used for multiple 'Flash Sale Events.'


2. Creating 'Flash Sale Event':

  • Log in to 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.


 Flash Sale Events

  • You will be routed to 'Dashboard' page. Click Apps module.


 Flash Sale Events

  • Click or mouse over Flash Sale Events tab and select Flash Sale Events tab. This will guide you to Flash Sale Events > Flash Sale Events page.
    • Note: Prerequisite:
      • You can view Flash Sale Events tab under Apps module only when you have installed 'Flash Sale Events' app to your store and your request for the same would have been approved from the MartJack:

 Flash Sale Events

  • Verify the available Flash Sale events (if any) under List of Events section.
  • To add a new Flash Sale Event, click 'Add New Event'. You will be routed to Flash Sale Events > Add/Edit Flash Sale Event page.


 Flash Sale Events

Enter the name of Group in which you want to associate the products of this 'Flash Sale Event', in 'Group Name' textbox.
  • Note: You can consider the 'Group Name' as the name of the 'Flash Sale Event'
Enter the 'Group description' in Group Description textbox.
  • Note: You can display the 'Group Description' in the 'Section Page' in which the 'Product Showcase' was mapped to display the products of 'Flash Sale Event'.

Enter the order of appearance of this event in 'Sequence' textbox.
  • Note The sequence number should be unique and this number is used for displaying the Banners of required 'Flash Sale Event(s)' through Flash Sale Drag and Drop controls.

To select the Banner1 for this 'Flash Sale Event', click 'Browse' which is beside 'Banner1' textbox. This will open 'Image Picker' dialog box with the images of the User Images folder.
  • Note:
    • The width of the Banner and width of the pane in which the 'Flash Sale' control is dropped (probably in 'Home page') should be equal for proper display of the banner.
    • There can be two banners but, selecting one banner is Mandatory.
    • The Banner number is used for displaying the required banners of the 'Flash Sale Event(s)'.

 Flash Sale Events

  • Double click on a suitable image, then the dialog box will be closed and the name of the selected image will be appeared in the 'Banner1' textbox.
  • Similarly, to select Banner2, click 'Browse' which is beside 'Banner2' textbox and follow the procedure as explained for Banner1.
  • To display the 'Details of Flash Sale Events, you need to map the flash sale event to a 'Section Page'. Select the section page from Section Page dropdown.
  • Note: You can map multiple 'Flash Sale Events' to a single Section page.
  • Select the starting time of the 'Flash Sale Event' from 'Start Time' 'Date and Time Picker'.
  • Select the ending time of the 'Flash Sale Event' from 'End Time' 'Date and Time Picker'.
  • To save the changes, click Save. This will display an informative message in Flash Sale Events > Add/Edit Flash Sale Event page.


 Flash Sale Events

  • Now you need to associate required products to this 'Flash Sale Event'. To associate products (SKUs) to this 'Flash Sale Event, click the link Click here, which is in the informative message as discussed above. You will be displayed Select Product for Mapping dialog box.


 Flash Sale Events

  • By default the products of initial category will be displayed below the search options. You can select the required products from them to add to the 'Flash Sale Event'.
  • You can search & select the products of your catalog by using different search options for associating with this 'Flash Sale Event.'
  • For Example, select a category from 'Category' dropdown, or select the required Category after clicking Browse button and click 'Go.' The products of the selected Category will be listed under Search Results section.
  • Note: You can also search the products through Title, Brand/Product Tag/Seller/Availability in Exchange/Location/Availability (Active/Inactive Products)/Price Range or SKU.
  • Click 'Add' after selecting the required products.
  • These products will be added to the selected group of 'Flash Sale Event' and displayed in SKU Association section of Flash Sale Events > Add/Edit Flash Sale Event page.


 Flash Sale Events

  • You can delete unwanted products or add more products through Delete or Associate Products buttons.


3. Configuring 'Product Showcase' in the Section page, which was mapped with the Flash Sale Event:

Note: The 'product Showcase' should be configured in the same 'Section Page' which was mapped with the 'Flash Sale Event' to display the products of the 'Flash Sale Events' upon clicking on the 'Banner' of the 'Flash Sale Event.'

  • Log in to 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.
  • You will be routed to 'Dashboard' page.


 Flash Sale Events

  • Click Dashboard & Setup module and select Design Home Page. This will guide you to Drag & Drop Controls page of Martjack Toolbox.


 Flash Sale Events

  • Select the 'Section Page,' which was selected while creating a 'Flash Sale Event' from 'Home > Design Your Site >' dropdown.
  • Drag and Drop the 'Product Showcase' control from 'Product Catalogue' tab in to a pane as shown in Figure.
  • Click 'Edit' link of the 'Product Showcase,' which is on the top right corner as shown in Figure.
  • This will open Product Showcase dialog box.


 Flash Sale Events

  • By default the Configuration section will be opened. Click Settings tab of Configuration section.
  • To automatically retrieve the products from the group of 'Flash Sale Event,' select 'Self Group' from 'Purpose' Dropdown.
  • For rest of the configuration of Product Showcase, please refer: Product Showcase.
  • Click 'Update'.
  • Click 'Publish'.


4. Configuring the 'Flash Sale' Drag & Drop Control in 'Home Page' (or required page) to display the 'Banner':

  • Log in to 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.
  • You will be routed to 'Dashboard' page.


 Flash Sale Events

  • Click Design Home Page tab under Dashboard & Setup module. You will be routed to Drag & Drop Controls page of Martjack Control Panel.


 Flash Sale

  • Select a page from Design Your Site dropdown (which is located on the top) in which you want to add the Flash Sale.
    • Note: If the required page is not available in the dropdown, you can create it now. Please refer: Create Custom Pages
  • Select Promotion tab and drag and drop the Flash Sale into a pane as per your requirement.
  • Click Edit, which is on the top right corner of Flash Sale as shown in Figure. This will open the FlashSale - FlashSale dialog box as shown in Figure.


 RSS Reader

By default, Display Title option is selected as ON. If you don't want to display the title of the control in CP (Control Panel) and in storefront, select Off from Display Title option.
By default, Display Control option is selected as ON. If you don't want to display this control in storefront, select Off from Display Control option.
  • Note: If 'Display Control' option is selected as Off, but the control is properly configured in a page, then the control will be displayed in the respective page of CP (Control Panel) but not displayed in SF (Storefront).
To give a title to this Flash Sale control, enter the name in Title textbox.
Select the suitable heading tag from H1 to H6 from the respective dropdown.
  • Note: Heading Tags are attached to the title for better SEO rankings. The importance decrease from <H1> to <H6>. Please make sure your heading structure is SEO-friendly while allotting these tags.
To give a specific look and feel to your container like color, graphical appearance, etc…select Container 1, Container 2 or Container_nopadding from Theme Container dropdown.
  • Note: Container 1 or Container 2 gives the different color look and graphical appearance of the container; whereas, Container_nopadding gives a plain container without any specified classes.
Select a suitable template for your Flash Sale control from Template dropdown.
To display the pager at Top, Bottom, both Top & Bottom of the control in storefront, select Pager on Top, Pager on Bottom, Pager on Both respectively from Pager Type dropdown.
Enter the Maximum number of Banners of the 'Flash Sale Events' to be displayed through this control in 'Max. No. Items' textbox.
Enter the Maximum number of Banners of the 'Flash Sale Events' to be displayed per page 'Items per Page' textbox.
Enter the number of columns in which the banners to be displayed through 'Flash Sale' control beside “Columns”: in the Configuration textbox as shown in figure.
Enter the range of sequence numbers of the 'Flash Sale Events' to be displayed beside “Index”: in the Configuration textbox as shown in figure.
  • Note: If you enter“0-10” here, then all Banners of 'Flash Sale Events' up to sequence 10 will be displayed in this control.
  • If you want to select only one Banner, say banner of sequence No. 5, then enter “5-5”
There can be two banners for each 'Flash Sale Event'. To display the Banner 1 of the selected number of events, enter “Banner1” beside ''Banner Type”: in the Configuration textbox as shown in Figure and vice versa.
Note: By default, Banner 2 will be displayed in Flash Sale Description control if 'Flash Sale Description' control is configured in the mapped section page of 'Flash Sale Event'.
To save the edited details of Flash Sale control, click 'Update'. You will be routed to Drag & Drop controls page again. You will be displayed the relevant 'Banners' and the 'Time left' in the 'Flash Sale' control.


 Flash Sale

  • To upload the Flash Sale control to your webstore, click 'Publish'.
  • To view the banner in storefront, click 'View Live Store.'


 Flash Sale Events

  • To view the products of a 'Flash Sale Event' in storefront, click on the relevant banner. The mapped products will be displayed now.
    • Note: For displaying these products, the Product Showcase should be properly configured in the relevant Section Page, which is mapped with the Flash Sale Event.


 Flash Sale Events
