Why the Google category mapping is required?

Mapping your own categories with the Google categories is required to capture the product data in the generated feed.
  • Note: The Google category mapping is a one-time exercise when you have mapped all your categories with the suitable Google categories and if there is no change in your categories.

Before generating the Google feed, map your categories with Google categories and map your category attributes with Google’s standard attributes through the respective links that are provided here.

To update the existing mapping or to map new categories, you can click the 'Download Mapped Categories' and use the downloaded file.

After creation or modification of a Google feed, generate the feed for capturing the latest data in the feed. For every Google feed generation, a task history will be created, which can be accessed through the relevant icon under the ‘Actions’ column.

  • An example of a Google category: Animals & Pet Supplies > Pet Supplies > Bird Supplies > Bird Cage Accessories > Bird Cage Food & Water Dishes > Bird Cage Accessories.
