Promotions:

  • Promotions are the proven marketing strategies used to convert the business into profits by delivering meaningful promotions.

  • Running promotions across websites and retail locations is not a trivial task. It requires intelligent technology to combine key promotional tactics and deliver a seamless experience across multiple promotions.

  • However, Martjack facilitates you to schedule, launch, and track the success of your eCommerce promotions even without the knowledge of programming.

  • Promotion Management enables you to keep a track of all the promotions in your store and also introduce new promotions.

  • You can also create Cart Promotions coupled with a ‘Discount Voucher Campaign’ so that you have a wide range of options to define the criteria for discount vouchers using the promotion rules.

  • You can add new promotions, edit the features of an existing promotion and even delete a promotion from your web store using the Manage Promotions tab.

  • You can also update the sequence in which the promotions need to be displayed in your web store and also increase the duration of the promotional offer.

  • You can apply Cart Promotions to normal products as well as to the Bundle Products as per your requirement.
  • Location wise Cart Promotions: Earlier, there were no location wise promotions for 'Cart Promotions'. Now, you can apply the cart promotions to required store locations through the Store Location option under the Rule Information Tab.

  • If you map a promotion to certain store locations, the promotion is applicable to only those locations.

  • When you apply a promotion to a 'Parent Location', the promotion will be applied to all of its Child Locations provided there are no exclusive promotions configured to those 'Child Locations'. That means, if any promotion is configured to a child location, that promotion will be applied to that child location and for the rest of the child locations (which are under a parent location), the promotion of their parent location will be applied.

Advantages of Promotion Management:

  • Helps you keep a track of the promotions in your store.
  • Provides a centralized system for planning, executing and analyzing the promotions in the store.

  • Stimulates quick increase in sales by attaching promotional incentives on particular products.
  • Providing promotions is an easy and economical way of reaching many customers.
  • Enables you to cater the needs of your elite customers/focus groups.
  • Helps in enhancing customer relationship.

Types of Promotions:

There are two types of Promotions available in MartJack:

  • 1. Catalog Promotion
  • 2. Cart Promotion

1. 'Catalog Promotion':

  • It is the promotion that can be applied to all or selected Products/Categories/Brands/Product Groups of your catalog.
    Please Refer: Catalog Promotions

2. 'Cart Promotions':

Cart Promotions are applied when the customer reaches the Shopping Cart. It is a promotion based on the 'Cart Value or Cart Items' in the customers' shopping cart.

Cart Promotions are created by choosing one or more rule elements which can include:
  • Rule Information - defines Promotion sequence, periodicity, the applicable store locations for promotion, etc…;
  • Conditions - defines 'What should be in Cart?' based on the Product or Cart parameters;
  • Actions - defines what the shopper receives That means what users will get if the conditions are met?; and
  • ‘Actions Conditions’ - defines 'What are the inclusions and exclusions for fulfilling the actions?' That means they define on which product(s) promotional benefits are applied and on which product(s) promotional benefits are not applied.

Please analyze all possible scenarios carefully before activating a promotion.

Once you understand the concept, you can create 'simple' as well as 'complex' 'Cart promotions' easily through this interface.

The rules applied in this kind of promotion are more complex as it requires awareness of the combinations of items in a customer's cart.
So, it's better to test the promotions on the live environment before offering them to your customers.

The 'Cart Promotions' will be displayed on following pages of your web store:

  • Cart Page
  • Single page Checkout Page

Steps for creating Cart Promotions:

  1. Define Rule Information
  2. Define eligibility Conditions
  3. Define Actions
  4. Define Actions Conditions (Optional)

Let's discuss these steps one by one in detail:

  • 2. Define the eligibility Conditions:

Create Cart Promotion

  • Conditions are required to decide the eligibility criteria for availing a promotion.
  • If the conditions are met as per mentioned criteria, the promotion process will look into the 'Actions Conditions' (if any). If there are no 'Actions Conditions' or the 'Actions Conditions' met as per mentioned criteria the 'Actions' will be performed accordingly.
  • The main condition will be in the form of following structure: If All/Any of these conditions are True/False:

  • Shipping Cart Discount … in Amount/Percentage
  • Buy X, Get Y free

  • 4. Define Actions Conditions (Optional):

Create Cart Promotion

  • They define 'the inclusions and exclusions for fulfilling the actions'.
  • In other words, actions conditions define on what products the promotional benefits are applied or on what products promotional benefits not applied.

  • The offer products (i.e. products on which promotional benefits are available) matching the Actions Conditions will be displayed through a popup when the conditions are met and the offer products are not added to cart.
    • Note: This popup will be displayed only in case the Actions defined as Buy 'X' and get 'Y' free

  Create Cart Promotion

  • Note: This popup will be displayed after clicking the Avail Offers link in the Special Offer(s) section of the Cart Page. The Special Offer(s) sectionAvail Offers link will be displayed in cart page when the conditions are met and till all the actions conditions are completely satisfied.

  Create Cart Promotion

  • If conditions are met and offer products matching to Actions Conditions is added to Cart, the promotional benefits (i.e. 'Product Price Discount, Cart Sub Total discount) will be directly applied to the offer product in the cart itself. In the case of 'Shipping Cost Discount', it will be applied in 'Step-3' of Single Page Checkout page. So, the Special Offer(s) sectionAvail Offers link will not be displayed in cart page; so the popup also will not be displayed.

  • Note: In the case of 'Buy 'X' and Get 'Y' free' type of promotions, if 'X' product is added to cart, the 'Y' product will be directly added to cart and the Special Offer(s) section & Popup will not be displayed provided the following conditions are satisfied:
  • i) The free (i.e. 'Y') product is a single product (i.e. not various products). However, the quantity of 'Y' product can be multiple.
  • ii) The free product does not have 'Product Variants'
  • iii) The free product is an Active product
  • iv) The checkbox stating 'Enable Display Cart Showcase' in 'Display Cart Showcase' section of 'Application Settings > Store Settings' page is selected and the 'Quick Addition' option from the 'Add to Cart Type' drop-down in the 'Display Cart Showcase' section is selected.

  Create Cart Promotion

  • v) Stock is available for the 'Y' product.
  • If the stock is not available for the free product, the Special Offer(s) will be displayed in respective cart page. When the user clicks the Avail Offer link, the following popup will be displayed.

  Create Cart Promotion

  • If no actions conditions are defined, the promotional benefits will be applicable to all products of your store if the Conditions are satisfied.

  • Actions conditions are more useful when you want to restrict the promotional benefit to particular products or certain conditions.
    • For Example, the Rule says: Buy any products from 'Mobiles and Accessories' Category for greater than Rs. 5000/- and get 10% discount on the 'LG' Brand products of 'Mobile and Accessories' Category. So, here the 'LG' Brand should be defined in 'Actions Conditions' so that the discount will be exclusively 'applied on LG' brand products.
  • These actions conditions will be in the form of following structure: If All/Any of these conditions are True/False:

  Create Cart Promotion

  • Price is less than/'equals or less than' … greater than/'equals or greater than' …
  • Quantity is/is not/less than/greater than/'equals or less than'/'equals or greater than' …
  • Product SKU is one of the/is not …
  • Product Tag is one of the/is not …
  • Matched Product - That means the products which are matched to the actions criteria
  • Product Group is one of the/is not…
  • Category is one of the/is not …
  • Brand is one of the/is not is …
  • Weight is/is not/less than/greater than/equals or less than/equals or greater than …
  • Variant is … and value is/not …
  • Attribute is … and value is/not …
  • Supplier is one of the/is not …

Let's learn how to add and manage Cart Promotions at your web store.

Do It Yourself:

Learn More:

learnmore2.jpg
1. All Promotions (i.e. either 'Catalog Promotions' or 'Cart Promotions') are applied on Web Price only.

For Example, if the MRP is Rs 5000, and Web Price is Rs. 4000, and you are giving a 25% discount through a Category/Cart Promotion, the final rate of the product will be Rs. 4000- 1000 = Rs. 3000

2. Be cautious while creating Rules carefully. Once the promotion is saved, it will be live as per the applied promotion criteria, and users can avail discounts. It's always better to test the promotion to check whether it is working as per defined criteria or not. So, first create a 'User Group' for yourself and apply the promotion only to that user group first and have a thorough test before allowing the promotion to all users.
