• Review and Ratings are displayed in Product Details page of any product if the option for the same has been selected through Settings » Application Settings » Store Settings.
  • Reviews and Ratings allow your end-users to rate a product and share their reviews to others users, which help the other users in taking quick purchase decisions.
  • It is your choice whether to display the comment/review immediately after posted by the user or not. A comment/review can be ‘accepted & go live in storefront’ or ‘rejected & deleted’ or ‘deactivated & go offline’ or ‘rejected the ‘abused’ status & removed the ‘abused tag’ from the storefront’.

  • Prerequisite:

    • To display the review and rating module, you need to select the checkbox stating “Select the option to add User Ratings and Reviews module to your storefront” through Settings » Application Settings » Store Settings.

  • To have the control of displaying the comment/review only when you have verified and accepted the same, you need to select the checkbox stating “By default, rating and reviews added by the users will be published immediately on the storefront. Select this option to enable the editor authorization, so that any user review will not get published without the prior authorization” through Settings » Application Settings » Store Settings.

How do I view Product reviews and ratings and manage their display in storefront?


To view the 'Product Reviews and Ratings' and manage their display in your storefront, do the following:

  • Log in to 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • You will be routed to 'Dashboard' page.

  • Click Customers module and select Comment & Discussion tab. You will be routed to Manage Product Reviews and Ratings page.

  • You can filter the 'Product Reviews' through multiple search criteria such as Search By Module (i.e. Comment or Discussion), Search by SKU/Title or Search By Post (i.e. 'Review Title' or 'Topic (Discussion) Title').
  • Enter your search criteria accordingly and click Go. The respective reviews will be listed under All Product Reviews section.

  • You can verify INACTIVE ' Comment & Discussion' and LIVE ' Comment & Discussion' icons against inactive and live comments on your storefront.
  • All the 'Reviews and Comments' that are indicated by LIVE ' Comment & Discussion' icons will be displayed in storefront.
  • If you would have selected the checkbox stating “Select the option to add User Ratings and Reviews module to your storefront” through Settings » Application Settings » Store Settings, you will have the control on the display of these 'Reviews and Comments'.

  • There are four ways to control 'Reviews and Comments' on the storefront if you have selected the above discussed checkbox:

    1. Reject Abused: Some users may post 'Reviews' or 'Comments'. If these 'Reviews' or 'Comments' are 'live', then other users can 'Report Abuse' them. Then the status of those 'Reviews' or 'Comments' will be changed as 'Reported as abused' in Control Panel and a tag ' Comment & Discussion' will be displayed in storefront against those products. This feature can be used for rejecting the ‘abused’ status in Control Panel & remove the ‘abused tag’ from the storefront’.

    2. Accept and Go live: This feature can be used for accepting the 'Reviews and Comments' as they are posted by users and allow them to display in storefront.

    3. Reject and Delete: This feature can be used for rejecting the 'Reviews and Comments' that are already live at storefront or inactive at Control Panel and delete them from Control Panel as well as Storefront (wherever applicable).

    4. Deactivate and Offline: This feature can be used for deactivating and remove already published or live 'Reviews' or 'Comments' from storefront.


Reject Abused:

  • End-users can report abuse the 'Product Reviews' or 'Discussions' that were posted by other users through Report Abuse link as shown in Figure.

  • If the end-users, reports abuse, then the the message (tag) ' Comment & Discussion' will be displayed against that 'Review' or 'Comment' even though you have selected the checkbox discussed in 'Prerequisite' condition.

  • However, you can remove this abused message.

  • To reject the ‘abused’ status & remove the ‘abused tag’ from the storefront’, select the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' and click Reject Abused. You will be asked for confirmation through a dialog box.

  • Click OK on the dialog box. The dialog box will be closed and the abusive messages will be removed from storefront as well as from Control Panel and you will be displayed a relevant success message.

Accept and Go live:

  • To accept the 'Reviews' and 'Comments' and publish them in storefront, select the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' and click Accept And Golive. You will be asked for confirmation through a dialog box.

  • Click OK on the dialog box. The dialog box will be closed, the status of the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' will be changed from INACTIVE ' Comment & Discussion' to LIVE ' Comment & Discussion' in Control Panel and they will start displaying in Storefront. You will be displayed a relevant success message.

  • Now you can verify the 'Reviews' and 'Comments' against that product in your storefront as shown in Figure.

Deactivate and Offline:

  • To deactivate and remove the previously published (i.e.live) 'Reviews and Comments' from storefront, select the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' and click Deactivate And Offline. You will be asked for confirmation through a dialog box.

  • Click OK on the dialog box. The dialog box will be closed, the status of the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' will be changed from Live ' Comment & Discussion' to INACTIVE ' Comment & Discussion' in Control Panel and they will not be further displayed in Storefront. You will be displayed a relevant success message.

  • To reject the 'Reviews and Comments' that are already live at storefront or inactive at Control Panel and delete them from Control Panel as well as Storefront (wherever applicable), select the respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' and click Reject And Delete. You will be asked for confirmation through a dialog box.

  • The respective 'Reviews' and 'Comments' will be deleted from Control Panel and further will not be displayed in Storefront (in case of previously live 'Reviews' and 'Comments'). You will be displayed a relevant Success message.
