• The members are the 'registered users (end-users or customers)' of your Web store and you can manage them through this interface.

  • You can create new users, add users into user groups, migrate move users between groups, bulk import & edit existing user data, bulk upload user data taken from the external sources, and so on through the User List tab.

  • You can view and create ‘User Groups’ through the ‘User Groups’ tab.
  • You can create and manage user attributes through the ‘Attribute Profile’ tab.

  • Note: The Profile Attributes are the list of attributes to be assigned to your end-users. You can create these attributes as per the customer behavior at your store, such as high-value customer, lucrative offer customer, latest electronic gadget customer, etc….


Let's learn about the following activities in detail:

1. View the User Details


How do I view the details of my users?


To view the details of your users, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • You will be navigated to the Dashboard page.

  • Click the  Member Profile icon. The Customers section will be displayed as shown in the figure.

  • Select Member Profile. You will be navigated to the User Profile page.

  • There are three tabs at the top right corner of the page. They are User List, Attribute Profile, and User Groups. By default, the User List tab will be selected.
  • The available users are listed in the User Profile page. You can filter the list through the available search options (if required). To do so, click Search Options. The following section will be opened.

  • The following options are available in the Search By drop-down (i.e. top one):
  • Create Date: Select this option when you want to filter the users through the date of user creation, and select the from and to dates through the From Date and To Date 'date pickers' respectively.
  • Last Login Date: Select this option when you want to filter the users through the date of the last login, and select the from and to dates through the From Date and To Date 'date pickers' respectively.
  • Recently Logged in: Select this option when you want to filter the users through the date of the recently logged in, and select the from and to dates through the From Date and To Date 'date pickers' respectively.
  • To filter the users through the username, enter the same in the User Name text box.
  • To filter the users through the mobile number, enter the same in the Mobile No. text box.
  • The following options are available in the Search By drop-down (i.e. bottom one):
  • First Name: To filter the users through the user's first name, select this option, and enter the first name of the user in the corresponding text box, which will be displayed after choosing this option.
  • Last Name: To filter the users through the user's last name, select this option, and enter the last name of the user in the corresponding text box, which will be displayed after choosing this option.
  • City Name: To filter the users through the user's City name, select this option, and enter the City name of the user in the corresponding text box, which will be displayed after choosing this option.
  • Deactivated Users: To filter the users who are deactivated, select this option.
  • Group By: To filter the users through the user group, select this option, and select the respective user group from the corresponding drop-down, which will be displayed after choosing this option.
  • You can specify single or multiple criteria for filtering the users.
  • Click Search. The respective members will be listed in the grid.

2. Create New Users


How do I create new user for your Web store from the Control Panel?


To create a new user for your Web store from your control panel, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • Click the  Member Profile icon. The Customers section will be displayed as shown in the figure.

  • Select Member Profile. You will be navigated to the User Profile page.

  • To create a new user from your control panel, click Create New User. You will be navigated to the Add/Edit Member Details page.

Enter the 'Username' of the new user in the Email Id text box.

To allot the password to the user, select the Specify Password checkbox and enter the password in the Enter Password and Retype Password text boxes.
Note: If you don't select this check box, a link for creating password will be sent to the user through an email if you have selected the Send Mail checkbox at the end.

Enter the first name of the user in the First Name text box.

Enter the last name of the user (i.e. Surname) in the Last Name text box.

Enter the alternate email id of the user (optional) in the Alternate E-mail Id text box.

Enter the mobile number of the user (optional) in the Mobile Number text box.
Note: Make sure that the country code text box (i.e. the first text box) also filled properly.

Enter the landline number of the user (optional) in the Phone Number text box.
Note: Make sure that the country code text box (i.e. the first text box) also filled properly.

Select the Country name of the user (optional) from the Country drop-down.

Select the State name of the user (optional) from the State drop-down.

Select the City name of the user (optional) from the City drop-down.

Enter the area name of the user (optional) in the Area text box.

Enter the Postal Address of the user (optional) in the Postal Address text box.

Enter the Pin/Zip Code of the user (optional) in the Pin/Zip Code text box.

Select the 'date of birth' of the user (optional) through the Birth Date 'date picker'.

Enter the occupation of the user (optional) in the Occupation text box.

Enter the name of the Company/Industry in which the user is employed (optional) in the Company/Industry text box.

To send promotional offers to the user, select the Receive Offers checkbox. Else, don't select it.

To edit the gender of the user (if required), edit the same through the Gender section.

To send email to the user for intimation. To send an email to the user, select the “Send Mail” checkbox.












You will be displayed a relevant success message.

3. Edit the User Details

  • This feature facilitates you to assist your users in creating new accounts or updating account details upon the user request or as per your requirement.
  • Some users may be new to eCommerce or some users may not understand the procedure for creating an account with you and you can help them in doing the same through this facility.
  • Sometimes, you may require creating users by yourself as per your business need such as creating franchisees as users of your store.


How do I edit the user details?


To edit the details of a user, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • To allot the new password or change the previous password of the user, select the Specify Password checkbox and enter the password in the Enter Password and Retype Password text boxes.

To add a user to a user group, refer to the followings:

  1. Go to the User groups section.
  2. Click Add to group button.
  3.  Select a group from the drop-down menu, and then click Submit.

4. Activate/Deactivate a User

  • Users can't be deleted if some orders are placed by the user. However, the user can be deactivated in this case.
  • The inactive users can be activated as per your requirement by this facility.
    • Note: You can activate an inactive user or deactivate an active user


How do I activate/inactivate a user?


To activate an inactive user, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

5. Approve or Reject a User

  • For allowing the user to access your storefront only after your approval, you need some db level settings against your account. Please contact the techsupport@capillarytech.com for the same.

  • When you approve a user, an email will be sent to the user for informing the approval. You can also customize this email template through Approve User


How do I approve or reject a user for accessing my storefront after registration?

6. Delete a User


How do I delete a User(s)?


To delete a user, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

Bulk User Deletion:

  • To delete users in bulk quantity, select the respective users. You can also select a single user here.
    • Note:
      • Please make sure that you are selecting the users, who don't have any orders.
      • If you have also selected the users having the orders, those users will be inactivated instead of deleted after clicking the Delete button.
  • Click Delete. The respective users will be deleted.


Deleting user from 'Member Details' page:
 Member Profile

  • To navigate to the 'Member Details' page, click the username of the user. The respective 'Member Details' page will be displayed.

  • To delete a user, click Delete User. If some orders have been raised against the user, the user can't be deleted, but the user will be inactivated. You will be displayed a respective message through a dialog box as shown in the following example screen.

      • If the user has no orders, you will be asked for confirmation for deletion through a dialog box.

7. Change the 'Username' or 'Email Address' of a User

  • You can change the 'Username' or 'Email Address' of a user from your Control Panel as per requirement.

To change the 'Username' or 'Email Address' of a User, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

9. Migrate the Users into the required User Groups

  • End-users can be associated into groups by their location, gender, purchase pattern/history or other sales characteristics.
  • These groups can ease out the common tasks for you like sending the common promotional activities, marketing emails, sale specific reminders, etc… You can create new user groups, edit/delete existing groups from here.
  • You can associate the same user into multiple user groups.
  • You can easily manage promotions for some group of users.
    For Example, you can migrate some users into a user group, and apply a catalog promotion to that group so that those users can exclusively avail the discounts as defined.


How do I migrate the users into a user group?


To migrate the users into a user group, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

10. Create the Profile Attributes for the End Users

  • ‘Profile Attributes’ are the list of attributes for your end-users, which are created by you to know the customer behavior at your store.
    • Example: How frequently you buy online? What is your Age?, Do you like to buy electronics online? etc….
  • After creating these attributes, you can define predefined values, which can be shown to customers for selection or you can allow customers to enter the relevant values.
  • You can display these attributes in the User Registration form, My Account section or any other page by using the respective Tags to that respective page template.
  • You can create new user attributes; edit/delete the existing attributes of end-user from here.


How do I create the profile attributes for my end users?


To create the profile attributes for your end users, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • Enter the name of the new Profile Attribute in the Attribute Name text box.
  • Select the Is Mandatory checkbox if this Profile attribute is mandatory to be defined.
  • Select the Is Pre-defined checkbox if this Profile Attribute is having only Predefined Values.
  • When the Is Pre-defined checkbox is selected, the following radio buttons will be displayed:
    • Single Select Dropdown: The profile attribute values will be displayed in a drop-down and user can select a single value.
    • Multi Select Dropdown: The profile attribute values will be displayed in a drop-down with checkboxes and user can select multiple values.
    • Radio Button: The profile attribute values will be displayed with radio buttons and the user can select a single value.
    • Checkbox: The profile attribute values will be displayed with checkboxes and user can select multiple values.
  • To save the new Profile Attribute, click Save. You will be displayed a relevant success message. If you have selected Is Pre-defined checkbox, you will be displayed a Add Attribute Values section along with the success message.

  • Enter predefined attribute value in the Attribute Value text box of the Add Attribute Values section. Click Save Value. The predefined attribute value will be saved and listed under the Attribute Values List section. You will be displayed a relevant success message too.

  • You can edit or delete the attribute value through its  Member Profile or  Member Profile icons
  • Add as many 'Predefined Attribute Values' as you want in the same way.

11. Edit the Profile Attributes of the End Users

  • You can edit the 'Profile Attributes' of your end users as per your requirement.

To edit the profile attributes of your end users, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • Edit the name of the Profile Attribute (if required) in the Attribute Name text box.
  • Select the Is Mandatory checkbox if this Profile attribute is mandatory to be defined, else don't select.
  • Select the Is Pre-defined checkbox if this Profile Attribute is having only Predefined Values, else don't select.
  • If the Is Pre-defined checkbox is selected, you can choose/alter the respective option for displaying predefined values.
  • Click Update. The Profile Attribute will be updated and you will be displayed a relevant success message.

  • Note: In the case of predefined attribute values, you can also edit or delete existing values under the Attribute Values List section through the respective  Member Profile or  Member Profile icons.
  • You can also add new predefined attribute values through the Add Attribute Values section.

12. Delete the Profile Attributes of the End Users

  • You can delete the 'Profile Attributes' of your end users as per your requirement.

To delete the profile attributes of your end users, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

13. Bulk Users Upload

  • This feature facilitates you to update user data in a bulk quantity or to upload new users in a bulk quantity through an Excel sheet.
  • User data gathered from various external sources can be uploaded in one go to save the time.


How do I update User data in a bulk quantity or how do I upload new users in a bulk quantity?


To update User data in a bulk quantity or how do I upload new users in a bulk quantity, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • Click the  Member Profile icon. The Customers section will be displayed as shown in the figure.

  • To bulk update the existing user data or to bulk upload new users, first you need to download the existing user data or default Excel format respectively. To do so, click Export to Excel. You will be displayed a Download Excel dialog box.

  • If a multiple number of users are there, you need to download the list in a step by step manner and compile into a single Excel. Select the download range and click Download. The respective user data will be downloaded in an Excel format and the download task is updated under the Import Tasks section.

  • To download the Excel, click respective  Member Profile icon under the Actions column. The UserProfileDownloadTaskXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.xlsx file will be downloaded and displayed as shown in the figure.

  • To modify the existing user data, update the user data. To add new users, add respective user data in the corresponding columns and save the Excel.
  • Navigate to the Bulk Users Upload section in the User Profile page. Click Browse, an Open dialog box will be displayed.

  • Select the updated UserProfileDownloadTaskXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.xlsx and click Open. The dialog box will be closed and the name of the selected file will be displayed in the Select File text box.

  • Click Upload. The UserProfileDownloadTaskXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.xlsx will be uploaded and the upload task is updated under the Task History section in run-time.

  • You can also download the uploaded file or delete upload task entry from 'Task History' section by clicking  Member Profile or  Member Profile icons under the Actions column respectively.

  • View the existing user groups (if any) under the View User Groups section. To create a new User Group, click Create New User Group. You will be navigated to the Add/Edit User Group page.

  • Enter the name of the new user group in the Group Name text box.
  • Enter the description of the user group for internal reference in the Group Description text box.
  • To create an active user group, don't select the checkbox De-Active. If the user group is to be inactive, select De-Active checkbox.
  • Click Save. The new user group will be saved and you will be displayed a relevant success message.

15. Edit the User Groups

  • You can edit the existing 'User Groups' except the 'Default User Group'.


How do I edit the user groups?


To edit a user group, do the following:

  • Log in to the 'MartJack Control Panel' by using your User Name (Email Address) and Password.

  • Click the  Member Profile icon. The Customers section will be displayed as shown in the figure.

  • Select Member Profile. You will be navigated to the User Profile page.

  • There are three tabs at the top right corner of the page. They are User List, Attribute Profile, and User Groups. By default, User List tab will be selected.
  • Click User Groups tab. You will be navigated to the View User Groups page.

  • View the existing user groups under the View User Groups section. To edit the user group, click the ' Member Profile' icon of that user group. You will be navigated to the Add/Edit User Group page.

  • Edit the name of the new user group (if required) in the Group Name text box.
  • Edit the description of the user group (if required) for internal reference in the Group Description text box.
  • To activate user group, don't select the De-Active checkbox. To deactivate user group, select De-Active checkbox.
  • Click Save. The user group will be updated and you will be displayed a relevant success message.

16. Delete the User Groups

  • You can delete the existing user groups except the 'Default User Group.'


How do I delete user groups?


To delete a user group, do the following:

  • If rewards points are not configured to this user group, it will be deleted and you will be displayed a success message.
  • If reward points are configured for this group against any event, the user group can't be deleted and you will be displayed a relevant error message.

  • Click Apps. The Apps section will be displayed as shown in the figure.

  • Click Reward Points, and select Reward Points. You will be navigated to the Reward Points » Earn Points Configuration page.

  • Navigate to the List of Configured Events section. Click  Member Profile icon of the event that belongs to the respective user group. You will be asked for confirmation through a dialog box.

  • Click OK on the dialog box. The respective event will be deleted and you will be displayed a success message.

  • Now, again navigate to the View User Groups page.

  • Click ' Member Profile' icon of that user group. The respective User Group will be deleted and you will be displayed a relevant success message.
